From
Kokoro #003 - Thank You, JohannesAt the moment when I'm out photographing, I almost never know how I'm eventually going to use the pictures. I was in a museum in North Dakota that included an old-fashioned print shop. This printer's block was from the last edition of the newspaper, handset with individual metal type.
A late afternoon light was streaming in from a window which
makes the composition. Without the shadows, this would be a fairly uninteresting and unreadable abstract.
As a publisher, I'm more than a little aware of the intricacies and history of the printed page. No doubt that influenced my interest in making this photograph.
